Mary has been a professional equine photographer for the past 10 years. Events she has covered professionally include dressage, para-equestrian, hunter/jumper, western show, gaming, rodeo, heavy horse hitch, and heavy horse pull and a variety of fairs. Breed specific shows include Hanoverian American Quarter Horse, Paint, and Appolusa.
She started photographing horses at the dressage shows she was competing in, and founded Lone Oak Photography in 2006. Her artistic eye and a knowledge of what is desirable in the varied disciplines is hard to find in one spot. Mary takes pride in these skills which she has acquired through experience. Her photography has been published locally nationally and internationally, including the front covers of Horse Sport and American Quarterhorse Journal.

Mary is a graduate of Ryerson University’s photography program. She also runs a photography studio and gallery from her home in Elginburg Ontario. Her other photographic interests include fine art portraits and nature. Some of her work is included in the portfolio section of this site.
Prior to operating her own business, Mary was a Flight Engineer with the Canadian Armed Forces. Her career in the military spanned 28 plus years in which she lived in many locations and worked on multiple aircraft, both fixed and rotary winged.

Many of the groups that request our services are not for profit organizations, thus we cover all organized events at no cost. We do ask that appropriate recognition is given through the events advertising so all competitors are aware of these services.
